Precisely because of the above-mentioned reasons, the thin skin around the eyes often requires special care and attention - although for some people the cream they use for the rest of the face will be sufficient to treat that area as well, for most people such a standard cream will not achieve the desired effect and will have to resort to for care that was created specifically for that area. Also, serums with which we treat the rest of the face are not suitable for the area around the eyes, due to high concentrations of active ingredients or because of the impractical and inappropriate texture.
What to use?
In fact, everything we use for dehydration, dark spots and wrinkles on the rest of the face, but still in a slightly more suitable form and concentration – retinol, vitamin C, niacinamide, caffeine, various antioxidants and a slightly richer texture with shea butter, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and peptides. Most eye creams are also ophthalmologically tested for use in this delicate area, and the products contain the aforementioned ingredients, but in the form of derivatives - derivatives that bring almost identical effects to the pure form of the ingredient with a much lower potential for irritation. Their concentrations have also been adjusted precisely because of the sensitivity of the areas to which they are applied. Therefore, creams for this area are not only necessary, but also necessary for most people in order to successfully treat a demanding problem, while at the same time significantly reducing the possibility of an unwanted skin reaction.
Protection of the periorbital area
After finding the ideal cream, the lack of results can happen due to the continuation of bad habits that expose the thin skin around the eyes. First of all, we do not apply sun protection products to the eye area. It is precisely this area, like the rest of our face, that is most often and for the longest time exposed to UV radiation, therefore it is necessary to adequately protect it. The use of SPF products and protective sunglasses will greatly help to improve appearance, prevent the development of discoloration and the appearance of wrinkles in that area. Another thing that is often mistaken is the cleaning of that area - we must not stretch the skin of that area, aggressively rub it, and use drying cleaners. Makeup is best removed with micellar water that we applied to the pad and gently applied to the eyes, or we use an oil pre-cleanser that will easily dissolve the makeup and there will be no unnecessary pressure on the skin.
What we do not need to emphasize, and which significantly affects the appearance of the skin in that area, are regular and high-quality sleep, sufficient hydration and limited intake of salt in the body. Lack of sleep and excessive salt intake can cause swelling and puffiness of the skin in that area in the morning, which in the long run leads to the formation of dehydration lines, which then turn into real wrinkles if they are not treated adequately.
Finally, it is certainly worth mentioning that certain problems such as discoloration in that area, in some people, are simply conditioned by the bone structure of the face itself, however, with proper care, certain changes can be made and the quality of the skin around the eyes can be improved. Each person may have different eye care needs, so it's important to experiment with products and routines to find what works best for you.
